How to Use AKVIS SmartMask 9.0 to Create Stunning Photo Collages
AKVIS SmartMask 9.0 is a powerful and easy-to-use tool that allows you to make precise selections of objects in your images and remove unwanted backgrounds. Whether you want to cut out a person, an animal, a plant, or any other complex object, AKVIS SmartMask 9.0 can handle it with just a few clicks. Chroma Key Mode
The Chroma Key mode is a new feature that lets you automatically remove a monochrome background from an image. This is especially useful for images that have been taken in front of a green screen or a blue screen, but it can also work with other colors.
To use this mode, open your image in AKVIS SmartMask 9.0 and switch to the Auto tab. Then select the Chroma Key mode from the drop-down menu. You will see three options: Uniform, Non-Uniform, or Gradient. Choose the one that best matches your background type.
Next, use the eyedropper tool to pick the color of the background that you want to remove. You can adjust the Tolerance slider to fine-tune the selection. You can also use the Eraser tool to manually erase any unwanted areas.

To use this mode, open your image in AKVIS SmartMask 9.0 and make a selection using any of the available modes (Auto, Manual, or Quick Selection). Then switch to the Background tab and select the Custom Background mode from the drop-down menu.
Click on the folder icon and choose an image from your computer that you want to use as a background. You can resize, rotate, flip, or crop the background image using the Transform tab. You can also adjust the brightness, contrast, saturation, hue, and blur of the background image using the Correction tab.
When you are satisfied with how your collage looks, click on Apply . You will see your object blended with your custom background.
Refine Edges Mode
The Refine Edges mode is an existing feature that has been enhanced in AKVIS SmartMask 9.0. It allows you to fine-tune the edges of your selection and preserve more details such as hair, fur, feathers, or transparent objects.
To use this mode, open your image in AKVIS SmartMask 9.0 and make a selection using any of the available modes (Auto, Manual, or Quick Selection). Then switch to the Refine Edges tab and check the box next to Refine Edges .
You will see several sliders that let you adjust the smoothness, feathering, contrast, and shift of your selection edges. You can also use the brushes to paint over the areas that need more refinement.
When you are done with refining your edges, click on Apply . You will see your object with smooth and natural-looking edges.
